LUCAS MAUNDER
Baritone
Originally from Winchester, Lucas is a Cardiff-based baritone currently studying for a Masters at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Recent solo highlights include 1st Officer Dialogues of the Carmelites (RWCMD), Buff Der Schauspieldirektor (RWCMD), Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle (Chepstow Choral Society) and Faure’s The Birth of Venus (Clevedon Choral Society).
As a choral singer Lucas is a Deputy Lay Clerk at Gloucester Cathedral and a Choral Scholar at St Martin's, Roath, in Cardiff. Outside of liturgical singing he also performs with Esprimo, with whom he toured the Loire Valley in July 2024. Lucas also sings with Cardiff-based octet Solstice. At the Brecon Choir Festival they most recently presented a programme of Bruckner motets, Brahms’ Neue Liebeslieder, and new compositions: notably, The Waterfall by the octet's own Tomos Owen Jones.
