COLETTE STUART
soprano
Colette recently graduated from Durham University, where she studied for a joint honours degree in Music and Philosophy at St John's College. Here, she immersed herself in politics and the wider community, working for a community-based café offering safe meeting spaces for vulnerable people and running an outreach programme for the local public. It became a hub of social activity for isolated residents of County Durham. She was also heavily involved in her college's Environment and Sustainability Society and published writing for the Feminist Book Club.

Colette is a multidisciplinary creative. She composes her own music and is currently teaching herself production and editing skills, as well as learning new music software. She particularly enjoys fusions of jazz, neo-soul, bedroom pop and classical music and heavily draws on her classical background for inspiration. Esprimo has become Colette's main outlet for classical music making since graduating, although she still keeps up her hobbies of playing the violin and piano. She also enjoys creating art, fashion, cooking, and writing poetry. Drawn to aesthetics, Colette has a strong eye and a distinctive style whilst maintaining a sustainable approach to fashion and craft.

Now based in London, Colette continues to be passionate about supporting the local community, fostering connections with vulnerable people, advocating for inclusive spaces, supporting local encampments, attending council meetings and fostering supporting roles in the LGTQ community.
